The Packaging Category Manager will develop and manage a diverse packaging supplier portfolio, with a principle focus on providing value-add solutions to a large group of stakeholders through developing robust category strategy, building strong internal relationships and better sourcing and management of suppliers.
Internally you will work collaboratively with teams such as manufacturing and QA to ensure packaging suppliers meet KPIs, and work with internal teams to gain their support for procurement initiatives. Externally you will develop strong partnerships with both existing and new suppliers, ensuring they consistently deliver results to the business. You will be expected to achieve savings targets whilst minimising risk, improving quality, service, growth, innovation and governance across the packaging portfolio.
Required for the role is solid experience in either a packaging procurement role or a commercial role in the packaging industry, supported by a sound understanding of manufacturing processes. Confidence in engaging with stakeholders and suppliers, excellent written and verbal communication, strong negotiation skills coupled with an ability to think outside the square will ensure your success in this role. Tertiary qualifications and CIPSA qualifications will be well regarded.
